STUDIO PORTRAIT SESSION

A studio portrait session is primarily an indoor session centered on uncomplicated backdrops and controlled lighting—lighting that can be either businesslike or dramatic. Take a look at the studio portrait portfolio to see what kind of images you can expect from a studio session.

The session itself will be run as most of my sessions. We’ll begin with quickly reviewing the clothing you have brought with you and discuss what might work best for your images and why. We’ll then move into the shooting. It’s important to understand though that it’s all a building process, so everything will start slow and gradually build into a set of refined images.

As we progress through the session we’ll review images and figure out what works and what doesn’t. This process will also provide you the opportunity (as well as responsibility) to let me know if there is anything you personally feel we missed or could be improved upon. This way if there are any issues we can be certain they are addressed and corrected in the course of the session.

At the end of the shoot we’ll review the best images and make some final selections. The images selected will receive a degree of retouching (skin and color corrections, stray hairs, minimizing of clothing wrinkles, etc.) to achieve a clean, yet natural and authentic look. In about a week's time, you will be provided a link to download your chosen images.
